Hi Kiki. You won’t believe this but a man from
the school board of directors came to visit the boarding school yesterday, and
another unbelievable event happened during the visit. It maybe best I start
from the beginning.
It first happened two days ago when the whole
school, both the elementary school, middle school and high school sections,
received an announcement about somebody from the school board of directors
coming to visit the Kurai Jinsei Boarding school. So everyone, both teachers,
students and janitors, were going around tidying up the school classrooms and
the dorm rooms. The principals kept on going around the schools to check
everything was in order over and over again. Urgh this was a long, hard, busy
day for all of us.
Anyhow, the man came to visit the school yesterday.
His name was Mr Kenya Yashiro and he was a proud and very smart looking man. All
of the students, elementary, middle and high schools were lined up outside the
school grounds to greet Mr Yashiro along with all the teachers and Principals.
“I welcome you to the Kurai Jinsei Boarding
school Mr Yashiro sir” said the Principal of the High school section.
“I’m happy to be here” said Mr Yashiro.
We students stayed quiet and still while the principals
led Mr Yashiro into the school. Then we were all told by the teachers to get
into our classes.
“I wonder what this visit is for” Shizuyo whispered
to me.
“Beats me,” I whispered back “but it must be
important, especially since he didn’t come here with the other members of the
board of directors”. I turned to Yuko, who was next to me. “Yuko did you check
on the B.G.S.’s this morning?”
“I did,” whispered Yuko “and I asked them not
to make so much noise today because of our visitor”.
“Good we mustn’t let the board of directors
know about our secret either” I whispered.
For the rest of the morning everyone was
attending school classes like normal. Shizuyo, Yuko and I were attending maths
class when there was a knock on our classroom door. The deputy head teacher
came in and he said that Mr Yashiro wanted to see Shizuyo, Yuko and me in the
principal’s office, which surprised us.
“I don’t know, but Mr Yashiro wants to see
them and we can’t ignore his wish” said the deputy head teacher.
So Shizuyo, Yuko and I went to the
principal’s office with the deputy head teacher. The girls and I wondered why
Mr Yashiro wanted to see us; had we done something wrong? When we got to the
principal’s office we saw Hiroshi, Kouhei and Tatsuya were there too; it seemed
Mr Yashiro wanted to see the boys as well as the girls and I, so something was
definitely going on. Once we entered the principal’s office the principal
introduced us to Mr Yashiro and we greeted him.
“I’m sorry I called you six children here while
you were still in class, but I have something important I need to speak to you
about” said Mr Yashiro. He told the principal and the deputy head teacher to
leave the room because he wanted to speak privately with us. Then he told us to
be seated.
“Is something wrong Mr Yashiro sir?” asked
Hiroshi. We feared we might be in trouble about something.
“No nothing is wrong,” said Mr Yashiro “it’s
just I think you six kids have met some of my peculiar friends”. He opened up a
bag that was next to him and to our surprise out came a golden yellow B.G.S.
“Hey it’s another B.G.S.” said Yuko, standing
up. She quickly sat back down onto the chair and covered her mouth to be quiet.
“Ah ha so my friend’s computer was right,”
said Mr Yashiro “there were more of his creatures here at the school and you
kids found them”.
“Wait,” said Tatsuya “you said ‘his
creatures’ are you saying the B.G.S.’s belong to your friend sir?”
“Correct Tatsuya,” said Mr Yashiro “but it
would be best if my friend explains to you about these creatures himself. In
the meantime would you mind telling me about how you found them?”
The girls and I started telling Mr Yashiro the
story about the night janitor seeing a ghost and how we found the red B.G.S.
that morning. Yuko explained about her decision to call the creature the B.G.S.
and then Tatsuya talked about when he questioned it and finding out about it
coming from outer space and knowing there were more of him. Then finally we
told Mr Yashiro about how we found the other 24 B.G.S.’s.
“You kids have had quite a time there,” said
Mr Yashiro “I don’t suppose you would be interested in helping me and my friend
find the rest of the B.G.S.’s?”
The girls, boys and I couldn’t believe our
ears when Mr Yashiro asked us to help him find the rest of the B.G.S.’s.
“Oh well we would like to sir,” I said, at
last, “but we believe the rest of the B.G.S.’s are all over Japan, and I’m
pretty sure you and your friend don’t have the money for all of us to travel
all over Japan”.
“Ah but my friend knows how we can get to
places like Tokyo, Kyoto, Sapporo etc for free,” said Mr Yashiro “so do you
kids want to help us then?”
Hiroshi, Tatsuya, Kouhei, Shizuyo, Yuko and I
all said ‘yes’ to Mr Yashiro at once. This was our chance to get away from
school and go to places we have never been before. Mr Yashiro called in the
principal after he finished talking to us.
“Sir I need to ask you something about these
children” said Mr Yashiro.
“Is something wrong sir?” asked the
principal. He feared if the boys, girls and I had offended Mr Yashiro in some
way.
“No it’s just that I’ve asked these children
to help me out with a friend and they’ve agreed to help me,” said Mr Yashiro “you
see I have a friend who runs a big farm with his family. But my friend seems to
have a problem; he told me there is more work to do on the farm and he has
fewer employees to help him finish it all. So I thought maybe some kids from
this school could help him out on the farm, and these six kids are perfect for
the job. So if it’s okay with you I want them to help my friend on his farm
starting the first day of July, and continue to work there till the end of
August”.
Of course what Mr Yashiro just said was a
lie, but he couldn’t tell the principal the real reason why he wanted us to leave
the school for two months.
“Um are you sure about this sir?” asked the
principal “I mean working on a farm is a lot of responsibility and I’m not sure
if these children here will be able to handle it”.
The boys, girls and I felt insulted when the principal
said that; it was as if the principal didn’t trust us.
“I have reports that say these children have
been working hard at this school ever since they first came here,” said Mr
Yashiro “I trust they will be able to work hard on the farm as much they work
hard at this school. Besides these children do want to work at the farm, don’t
you children?”
“Of course sir,” I said “I like being around
animals”.
“Me too,” said Shizuyo “and I like the
countryside”.
“I’ve never been to a farm before,” said Yuko
“this will be my chance to visit one”.
The boys stood up saying they wanted to work
on the farm too because they thought it would be good work experience for them,
especially since they only had one more school year to go through. We thought
it was funny, joining in with Mr Yashiro’s lie.
The principal reluctantly agreed to let us go
and work at the farm. He couldn’t argue with Mr Yashiro.
“I’ll phone the children’s parents right
away, tell them what you’ve told me sir and ask them for their permission to
let the children work there” said the principal.
“Then it’s settled,” said Mr Yashiro “Hiroshi,
Tatsuya, Kouhei, Kyoko, Shizuyo and Yuko, I will come and get you and take you
to my friend’s farm myself. Be sure to be ready to leave on the first of July”.
“Yes sir” the girls, boys and I said
altogether.
After that Mr Yashiro left the school while
the boys, girls and I went back to attending our classes. I couldn’t believe it
though; Mr Yashiro knowing about the B.G.S.’s, telling us about his friend who
owns them and inviting the girls, boys and I to help him and his friend find
the rest of the B.G.S.’s. This was our chance of getting away from the school
for a while, and we weren’t going to let this chance get away from us. But I am
curious about Mr Yashiro’s friend; is he by any chance an alien too? And since
Mr Yashiro said he could get us to other places in Japan for free, does this
mean the friend has his own plane or something? I can only wait to find the
answers to my questions.
